The Zurich book launch (or Booklaunch, in Swiss-German-English) at AP News was totally, totally magical. Flooded by five huge projections of Jennifer West’s beautiful films (on walls, buttermilked windows, and blinds, turning the whole space into a gigantic psychedelic lantern), I read poems from Rumored Animals as well as a few new ones. Many thanks to everyone who came and asked me to sign their book afterwards. It was really touching. Though in the wild blur of the evening, I hope my personalized messages didn’t get too crazy. Special thanks to Tobias Madison for the 1960s-era gold Art Deco palm tree weirdly looming up behind me and the crazy bandito light on my face.
